Come on in…

Welcome to Alfresco Bum!  I am thrilled to be involved with Adventure Bay Media and hope to provide a worth-while and meaningful blog for their sake, and yours.  

Why Alfresco Bum?  Well, over the years I have thrown around many different classifications pertaining to various forms of recreation.  Ski bum.  Climber.  Paddler.  Surfer.  Backpacker.  Guy who lives in his truck.  But truth be told, I have never purely been any one of these.  Of course I am a skier when I’m skiing, and a backpacker while I am out on trail, but very rarely have I ever given all of my time to one discipline.  I am what you might say, a collector of hobbies.  I do consider myself to be very proficient in many arenas, mostly because I have shared time with many activities.  What these activities do have in common, though, is the outside world.  I prefer to be out rather than in.  I am a fresh-air junkie, or, an Alfresco Bum.

If you find yourself checking back often, you’ll see that I intend to dedicate this blog to adventure and all that relates.  This may seem broad, but as with my recreation interests, I have trouble picking just one.  Don’t be surprised to read a book review, experiences with trip planning and recommendations, and personal narratives of my own adventures, and even those of friends-be it a simple outing or a complex expedition.  

So when you’ve finished waxing your skis or airing out your tent, start a fire and come on in to see what the Alfresco Bum has been up to.  Above all, Be Well.
